Authentication

This page covers getting into Palau: creating your account, signing in, and what to do when sign-in doesn’t work.

How you join depends on whether someone has already added you.

  • You were invited: an admin on your organisation’s account added your email address. Use the sign-up link they shared and sign up with that exact email address. You join their account automatically.
  • You’re starting fresh: sign up at app.palauproject.com. A new account is created for you.
  1. Go to app.palauproject.com.
  2. Sign in with your email and password, or with Google.
  3. If your organisation uses single sign-on (SSO), use the sign-in link your organisation gave you instead.

You stay signed in while you’re active. After a day without activity you’ll be asked to sign in again.

To sign out, go to Account settings and select Log out.

Your account admin can require two-factor authentication (2FA) for everyone on the account. If it’s required, Palau asks you to set it up the next time you sign in.

  1. Install an authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Duo Mobile.
  2. Scan the QR code shown in Palau with the app.
  3. Enter the six-digit code from the app.

If you sign in with SSO, your organisation’s identity provider handles 2FA instead.

If Palau can’t sign you in, you’ll see a message explaining why.
