Organisational structure
An organisational structure is a tree of the units in your organisation, such as the group, its subsidiaries and their sites. If you link a structure to a reporting project, Palau creates a separate report for each unit and rolls their data points up to the parent.
Create a structure
Section titled “Create a structure”- Go to Organisational structure.
- Select Create new structure.
- Give it a name and, optionally, a description.
You can keep several structures side by side, for example one per reporting scope.
Add units
Section titled “Add units”- Select Add unit to add a unit to the tree.
- Drag units to move them under a different parent.
- Select a unit to fill in its Unit details:
- Type: for example group, subsidiary or site
- Location: a country or address
- Parent ownership: the percentage owned by the parent unit
- Properties: up to 10 custom properties of your own
Reef and the disclosure AI use these details, so the more you fill in, the better tailored their suggestions are.
Import from a CSV file
Section titled “Import from a CSV file”If your structure already exists in a spreadsheet:
- Select Download the empty CSV template.
- Fill it in with your units.
- Import the file.
Use a structure in a project
Section titled “Use a structure in a project”When you create a reporting project, choose the structure to report against. See data collection for admins.
Edit a structure that’s in use
Section titled “Edit a structure that’s in use”You can still edit structures that projects report against. Before you remove a unit from one, Palau asks you to confirm, because the unit’s report data is connected to it.
